Under a lovely autumnal sky, the Tier 3 season continued against an experienced West Drayton side. With the coaches in their trademark SJFA polo shirts, the young superstars warmed up with great enthusiasm.

With this being their third external fixture, the boys should be applauded for how quickly and confidently they have settled into playing structured matches.

With some minor adjustments to the defence formation (Adam Valjy and Ali Ismail) the boys carried on from their last game with quick passing and movement. The team played some great open football, roared on by an ever increasing number of supporters.

We went down by a goal from a deflected shot, but shortly after Husayn Ismail equalised with a tidy finish.

West Drayton scored another but with some great work from our midfield maestros (Ali Dewji and Alireza Hamir) we put together some intelligent passes to equalise yet again through Husayn Ismail, and hats off also to an inspirational performance from Jaabir in the defensive midfield role.

Half time allowed us to introduce Sajjad Suleman for his debut at right back with a great performance.

West Drayton started the second half pressing Stanmore hard across the pitch when we had possession, making it much harder for us to get out of defence. West Drayton went up again 5 minutes into the second half but the lead did not last long, with Ali Dewji rounding the keeper to make it 3-3.

A little fatigue kicked in and West Drayton scored two quick goals in the last 5 minutes to make 5-3. it would have been more but Hassan Merali pulled of a few great saves in goal.

Overall, it was another very encouraging performance, and the progress from the last game was clear to see, with Stanmore giving West Drayton a serious test, as noted magnanimously by their coaching staff who applauded the team for their play and said they were already looking forward to the return fixture.

Result: West Drayton 5- 3 SJFA
