The Football Association Community Shield (formerly the Charity Shield) is English football’s annual match contested between the champions of the previous Premier League season and the holders of the FA Cup at Wembley Stadium.
Organised by the Football Association, proceeds from the game are distributed to community-based initiatives and charities around the country. Revenue from the gate receipts and match programme sales is distributed to the 124 clubs who competed in The FA Cup from the First Round onwards, for onward distribution to charities and projects of their choice, whilst the remainder is distributed to the FA’s national charity partners.
Barnet FC selected Stanmore Jafferys Football Academy as their community project/charity for this season (2016/2017) and the cheque (£1,000) was presented on Easter Monday at The Hive during the league fixture (Barnet FC – Wycombe) half-time.
At the event, SJFA presented a club shirt to Barnet FC as a token of appreciation and acknowledgment for the partnership during the season.
