During the 2017/2018 season SJFA are partnering with Sufra NW London.
Sufra NW London collects and distributes over 50 tonnes of non-perishable food to nearly 4,000 people in absolute crisis. These include a wide range of beneficiaries such as the mentally unwell, the disabled, carers, the unemployed, the elderly and low-income families affected by poverty. The Food Bank, which relies entirely on donations from the public, is the culmination of extensive partnerships with local charities, corporate sponsors, faith communities and youth organisations, which together ensure that no one in our community should ever go hungry.
To continue our collaboration and support this worthwhile charity the SJFA “ONE TEAM” have arranged for Sufra NW London to make smoothie tasters for the boys during the training session on
7 January 2018. The intention is for each tier to break out from training at an allocated time slot for 10 minutes to pop over for a taster. The smoothie will he served by Jess who by profession is a nutritionist and will also use the opportunity to provide all the boys (and parents/coaches) some advise on sport nutritional and dietary advice.
During the training session Sufra – NW London will be represented by Fahim Daya. He will have his van so please free to bring along a bag of groceries. All items on the shopping list provide so much value to those who are reliant on the food bank.
We hope the boys enjoy the occasion and we thank you all for your support on the day.
