The format of this friendly encounter was structured as four 10-15 minute periods of playing time (5-a-side). The positions were rotated to give the boys the experience of each position.

The game started with both teams playing end-to-end football. The score-line however remained 0-0 due to some good defending on both sides. The second period started with SJ taking the lead, with Ahmad scoring from the half-way line. It was a perfect shot which the goal keeper did try to save, but no chance. This was reminiscent of Xabi Alonso’s wonder goal against Newcastle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfGp_6XP6_Q.

Pro-Touch, however, equalized soon after. Ali Raza came close to putting SJ back in the lead but the shot went wide. At the other end Mahdi made excellent saves to keep SJ level.

In the third game, Pro-Touch took the lead by scoring two quick goals, but some excellent defending from Alimehdi and Yaseen, and good goal-keeping from Ali Abbas kept the Pro-Touch lead at two goals only. As the game went on, SJ started to press Pro-Touch, with Ali Raza showing excellent dribbling skills and persistence. SJ scored three goals in quick succession, all by Ali Raza.

In the final period, SJ continued to counter-attack with Yusuf leading the attack. Unfortunately, Ahmed hit the post and a penalty was also missed. Pro-touch’s attacking paid off at the end as they managed to score three quick goals to close the game at 6-4 to them.

Overall the boys displayed great footballing skills. The future is promising.
